Job Description

Summary

This job is for a senior project manager at a U.S.

Army special operations base in North Carolina, where you'll oversee the planning, budgeting, and execution of construction and facility improvement projects.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience: Implementing corporate decision, guidance, laws, regulation or policy in the development of projects; Coordinating the planning, design, engineering, construction and environmental consideration for projects.

Controlling budgets; Projecting project milestones from planning through construction.

Negotiating with internal customers and external customers(example Federal, state, and local government agencies, Congressional interests, other external organizations, and higher authorities.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12) You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Contracting/Procurement Cost-Benefit Analysis Design Project Management Some positions allow education as a substitution, this position is based on experience only.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).

Major Duties:

  • Serve as Senior Project Manager responsible for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects.
  • Review and analyze cost reports ensuring charges are authorized and appropriate.
  • Ensure all projects are within the Command Facilities Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (FSRM) policies and precedence.
  • Apply extensive knowledge of management concepts, methods, practices, and processes of planning, engineering, and scientific practices.
  • Control and manage project milestones and budgets from planning through construction.
