Project Management Office Director
The Department of Administration's (Admin) Division of Enterprise Applications (DEA) is seeking a Project Management Office (PMO) Director to join the team.

You will lead a complex portfolio of strategic technology programs and projects for a large state agency's technology division.
This role oversees the Portfolio of programs and projects DEA delivers and is responsible for the successful delivery of a wide range of programs and projects, manages a team of Project Managers, and advances portfolio management maturity through Agile and hybrid methodologies.
The PMO Director is responsible for aligning project execution with strategic objectives, driving measurable outcomes, championing process and people development, and ensuring enterprise-wide collaboration.
This role will drive strategic planning including the creation and evolution of technology roadmaps. This role requires a seasoned leader with deep experience in IT Portfolio Management.
You will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer and be responsible for coordinating strategic projects across teams within DEA.
Portfolio Leadership: Drive execution of large-scale, multi-year ERP and other technology-related initiatives.
Oversee delivery of broad technical solutions, including SaaS, cloud, mainframe and other legacy systems.
Ensure successful integration of security, compliance, and business continuity priorities across portfolio efforts.
Establish an effective project management methodology that guides all programs and projects for the Division. Monitor staffing levels and skill sets to needs.
Strategic Planning & Roadmap Development: Develop and execute multi-year strategic roadmaps aligned with business and IT goals.
Partner with executive stakeholders and cross-functional leaders to define, prioritize, and sequence strategic investments.
Use stakeholder feedback, risk posture, and business case analysis to guide portfolio decisions and optimize outcomes.
Agile and Process Maturity: Improve Agile delivery and PMO performance by standardizing project delivery practices and coaching teams toward maturity.
Engage internal and external Agile coaches, establish best practices, and oversee Agile Product Owner and team training.
Drive rapid delivery cycles and responsiveness by forming collaborative product development teams with central business units.
Employee Engagement & Leadership Development: Cultivate an empowered, engaged workforce by championing staff recognition, feedback mechanisms, and professional development.
Improve key engagement metrics through employee forums, coaching, and leadership development. Mentor rising leaders into higher level roles, strengthening the leadership pipeline.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communications: Collaborate with operations and business leadership to manage shared resources and resolve trade-offs.
Serve as an escalation point and trusted advisor to CTO, providing timely and transparent portfolio reporting.
Deliver high-quality executive briefings, kickoff presentations, and closure reports to drive understanding, buy-in, and alignment.
