As the Program Support Assistant for the Community and Recovery Services programs, the incumbent provides administrative/clerical support to he Vocational Rehabilitation program, (VHA VR), Phoenix Empowerment Center (PRRC), and Mental Health Intensive Community Model (MHICM) under the Mental Health Service (MHS).located at the Greenwood CBOC, Louisville, KY part of the Robley Rex Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service.
An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement.
In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below: GS-06 grade level specialized experience: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties the Program Support Assistant (OA) at the full performance level (GS-6), and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled.
To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is experience where you were responsible for providing administrative support.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Providing administrative and clerical support Extracting and analyzing data from various databases Collecting, compiling and tracking data and information Processing documents and preparing reports Establishing, updating and maintaining office files and records Performing basic customer service skills, timekeeping, data analysis and graphing Performing automation duties using such software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, calendar, and/or databases Preferred Experience: Experience with using Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, and TEAMS There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:
Duties includes but are not limited to the following: Basic administrative and clerical support, including timekeeping duties Assist with timesheets, billing, payments for the Transitional Work component, as well as accounting for the VHA VR program Extract and analyze data from various databases, including, but not limited to VATAS, VSSC, VISTA and LEAF Prepare reports, data analysis and graphing compilation and collection, preparation of reports, program support and administrative assistance to VHA VR Resolves problems associated with the data analyses, administrative and clerical work of the office Provides a complete range of program support which includes basic customer service skills, timekeeping, data analysis and graphing Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Position Description Title/PD#: Program Support Assistant (OA)/PD40421A Physical Requirements: Incumbent works in an office setting.
Duties require sitting, some walking and light lifting of medical records. Incumbent works extensively in the hospital computer system.
Physical demands are limited to normal working, carrying of small batches of documents, papers or pieces of equipment and walking between the workstation and other work locations within the medical center.
There are no unusual physical requirements.
