Incumbent serves as Program Support Assistant to the Organizational Experience Service (OES) and will support the OES Chief and Section Chief(s) and employees by performing a variety of substantive and coordinative tasks in support of efficient management of the service.

You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-04 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Knowledge of proper grammar, punctuation, spelling and agency guidelines to prepare, edit and place in proper format all correspondence and reports.
Knowledge of VA timekeeping policies and procedures. Skill in communication both oral and written, and the ability to tactfully present ideas. Knowledge of telephone protocol and manners.
Skill in operation of computer to accurately and neatly present product in proper format in final form.. OR, Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience.
To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have four years above high school in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours, 45 quarter hours, or the equivalent in a college or university, or at least 20 hours of classroom instruction per week for approximately 36 weeks in a business, secretarial, or technical school.
(TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED). OR, Combination: Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level.
You must have a combination of specialized experience and education beyond the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) to meet the specialized experience requirement.
One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED).

Physical Demands: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work.
However, there may be some walking, stair climbing, bending, stooping, and carrying light weight documents, folders and manuals required.
Hearing and distinct speech are essential due to the extensive use of the telephone as a means of communication to give instruction and receive information.
The incumbent must possess manual dexterity to enter computer information. mental concentration to meet critical deadlines is also required. Major Duties:
Major Duties Include: Maintains calendars for OES leadership.
Which includes schedules meetings, for committees, schedules conference rooms including reserving media, equipment, keys, and other relevant resources.
Ensures that suspense dates for action items are monitored for timely completion of deadlines, to include mail. Serves as the primary timekeeper for OES.
Creates transactions for OES fund control points.
Composes and/ore reviews all outgoing correspondence, reports, minutes, etc for proper format, correct grammatical content, spelling, proper enclosures, proper and complete coordination, and ensures content is in accordance with established policies.
Creates necessary travel arrangements, including ground, and/or air transportation and hotel reservations. Prepares and tracks travel arrangements for OES staff.
Files correspondence, reports, minutes, etc. in a timely manner with no backlog by the end of each week. Maintains an orderly filing system, purging files or preparing new files, as appropriate.
Serves as the alternate Automated Data Processing Applications Coordinator (ADPAC) for OES.
Serves as alternate liaison between Organizational Experience Service and OIT for computer software and hardware support.
Assists the Chief and Section Chief(s) in the preparation of required reports, maintains, gathers, and compiles records of organizational and workflow charts, staffing levels, i.e.
vacancies and mission and/or function statements. Submits work order requests, request for supplies, and keys, as requested. Orders and receives supplies for the service.
Maintains the required documents within the 6-part folders for employees.
Works in conjunction with the facility Records Manager to ensure proper implementation of the records management program within OES. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
