Job Description
Summary
This job involves helping to create, run, and monitor programs for inmates at a correctional facility, including planning their transition back to society and keeping records up to date.
It requires working closely with inmates every day in a prison setting.
A good fit would be someone with experience in social services or education who is organized, empathetic, and ready for hands-on work in corrections.
Key Requirements
- High school diploma required
- Relevant program experience in corrections or social services
- Bachelor's degree can substitute for required experience
- Ability to complete four weeks of SCDC Basic Training
- Strong skills in maintaining confidentiality
- Proficiency in using the Offender Management System
- Daily interaction and collaboration with inmates
Full Job Description
- Assists program coordinator with the development, implementation, oversight, instruction and evaluation of agency sanctioned programs.
- Assists with the establishment of new programs or the modification of existing programs.
- Assists in monitoring and evaluation of programs.
- Assists in pre-release case planning in collaboration with clients, ensuring confidentiality.
- Ensures inmate program participation is routinely entered and updated in the Offender Management System.
- Will work with inmates on a daily basis.
