This job involves leading and overseeing programs at the EPA's Superfund and Emergency Management Division, focusing on emergency responses, environmental cleanups, and resource management to protect public health and the environment.

This position is in the Office of the Regional Administrator Region 1, Superfund and Emergency Management Division. About: Region 1.
This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.
NOTE: You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for the GS-15 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-14 level defined as planning, organizing, directing and evaluating an environmental or administrative program; and leading others and managing budget and human resources issues.

You will: In coordination with the Director, plans, coordinates, and manages Superfund and Emergency Management Division programs and operations—including emergency response, removal, preparedness, and Superfund activities—to ensure efficient use of resources in alignment with established EPA policies and guidance.
Reviews and evaluates the Superfund and Emergency Management Division's organizational effectiveness and operational impact across emergency response, removal, preparedness, and Superfund program activities; develops data driven recommendations to streamline processes, optimize resource use, strengthen incident readiness, and improve program outcomes in alignment with EPA policies and SEMD program goals.
Assists in directing day-to-day Superfund and Emergency Management Division (SEMD) operations—individually and through delegation to Office/Branch Chiefs—by overseeing correspondence control, budget formulation and execution, and meeting coordination across emergency response, removal, preparedness, and Superfund activities.
Supervises assigned staff by providing guidance and counseling on established policies and procedures; monitors day-to-day compliance and performance; and addresses routine employee relations issues.
