About the Position: This Program Manager position serves as the Deputy for Programs and Project Management and Chief of the Programs and Project Management Division at the District level within the U.S.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal Service which includes supervising program management by providing oversight and direction of large and technically complex civil works and/or Interagency/International Support (IIS) projects or programs to include at least one of the following: flood control, storm damage prevention, environmental restoration, and/or medical facilities construction.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Leadership Organizational Development Planning and Evaluating Project Management Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).

Major Duties:

  • Work closely with the commander, deputies and other principal staff, providing continuity of corporate leadership in assessing district mission and work requirements and in developing corporate plans, goals, and objectives.
  • Responsible for the vertical and horizontal integration of products to produce the projects and manage the program for the district.
  • Performing management functions such as interviewing and selecting personnel for key positions, approving personnel authorizations, making regional assignments to cope with workload changes, establish controls for fund expenditures.
  • Establishing policy relating to the professional accomplishments of the assignments.
  • Assure continuity of management in the executive office at times of change in commanders.
