Full Job Description

You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER in the LIFE CYCLE PLANNING DEPARTMENT of CARRIER PLANNING ACTIVITY.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing program requirements and activities (e.g.

cost, schedule, contracts, performance reporting, logistics, budget) to ensure successful execution throughout a ships acquisition lifecycle.

  • You will serve as the Life Cycle Planning Principal Assistant Program Manager (PAPM) Department Head and the subject matter expert to provide centralized Aircraft Carrier life cycle maintenance and modernization planning and management.
  • You will be responsible for the management and guidance in balancing the many factors required to establish program priorities, milestones and strategic goals within the Life Cycle Planning Department.
  • You will oversee Life-Cycle Management of in-service aircraft carriers, providing advanced planning, integration, and administrative control procedures required for execution of carrier life-cycle maintenance, availability and modernization programs.
  • You will establish work assignments to be accomplished by the employees in the program, setting priorities, preparing schedules for work completion, and ensuring the timely performance of satisfactory work efforts.
  • You will apply management and business principles to analyze situations, identify problems, probe causes and select courses of action for subordinate managers to pursue.
  • You will communicate program activities in a variety of written and oral forums at all levels internal and external to the organization.
