This job involves overseeing the integration of advanced naval combat systems like Aegis and missile defense into ships, managing projects from design to training, and ensuring contractors deliver on time and meet standards.
It's ideal for someone with experience in defense technology who enjoys leading complex technical programs and working with teams to solve big challenges.
You'll act as an expert advisor in a military training command, helping keep the Navy's surface fleet ready.
You will serve as a Program Manager in the Functional Integration Directorate of SURFCOMSYSTRNCMD DAHLGREN.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conduct studies of broad scope and complexity involving management of cost, schedule, performance and technical aspects; 2) Ability to negotiate with management to accept findings and implement recommendations, particularly when substantial resources are needed or major changes to established procedures are recommended; 3) Possess thorough knowledge of the Aegis Weapon System (AWS) and Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) to include all elements, how they function and perform together, and overall operation of the system.
