This is position is located in EEMS Policy, Process & Contract Management, Statewide.

Are you the One? We are looking for a Program Coordinator II who will supervise and participate in Medicaid Eligibility policy and process development and management initiatives, as well as to serve in a senior leadership role for the Eligibility Policy team. This role reports to the Policy and Process Manager.

Performs fundamental supervisory and leadership functions in accordance with Department policies and procedures, best practices and Federal and State rules and regulations, especially with regard to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) standards.

Maintains an effective organizational team and motivates diverse staff to accomplish mission critical operations and objectives. Promotes workforce engagement.

  • Maintain knowledge of Medicaid Eligibility Policy, Procedures and System Functionality.
  • Supervise and work alongside staff responsible for Medicaid policy and process development.

    Work closely with other members of Policy management team to develop and maintain policy development and management tracking tools, identify and assign work based on prioritized needs, review staff work and provide feedback.

    Provide guidance for team to conduct necessary research, develop draft documents for new and updated policies and procedures, follow documents through review and approval process and publish work based on release schedule.

    Serves as Eligibility Policy and Process Subject Matter Expert for Policies & Procedures, Training, Quality Assurance, System Development and other Agency Initiatives as assigned.

    Serves as senior team member for completion of more complex work assignments, including project ownership.

    Mentor Policy and Process team members; participate in development and implementation of peer review process for written documents including but not limited to policy, procedures, Service Manager responses and rebuttal findings.

    Requirements

    A bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years of relevant program experience.

    Bachelor's degree must be from a college or higher education institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and Council for Higher Education (CHEA).

    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered with prior State Human Resources approval.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Valid driver's license.
    • Requires holder to drive routinely.
    • Occasional overnight travel.
    • Overtime and/or weekend work with Deputy approval.
    • Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
    • Lifting requirements: 20 lbs.

    Qualifications

    Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to the area of employment. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion.

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively.
