Job Description

Summary

This job involves supporting administrative programs in a cyber-focused defense agency, mainly handling travel arrangements, purchase cards, and related inquiries to keep operations running smoothly.

You'll guide staff on travel systems, manage records for spending, and help improve program efficiency.

It's a good fit for someone with entry-level experience in office administration or program support, especially if you have a background in government or military settings and strong communication skills.

Key Requirements

  • At least one year of experience equivalent to GG-05 level, such as communicating effectively verbally and in writing or serving as a point of contact for administrative programs like travel or purchase cards
  • For GG-07 level: Additional experience in project management techniques for developing, implementing, maintaining, and overseeing programs and contracts
  • Familiarity with the Defense Travel System (DTS) and Government Travel Card (GTC) program

  • Skills in developing project plans, resource expenditures, and risk assessments
  • Experience as a Government Purchase Card (GPC) holder, including processing and maintaining auditable records

Full Job Description

This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service.

It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.

It is in the Professional Work Category at the Full Performance Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA EIC/ENTRPRS INTEGR AND INNOV CTR (EC1).

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.

Qualifying Experience: To qualify at the GG-05, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position.

Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.

For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in effectively communicating information verbally and in writing in order to provide clear, comprehensive guidance, or experience serving as the primary point of contact for administrative support programs, such as the Government Travel Card (GTC) program, Defense Travel System (DTS) administrator, or the Government Purchase Card Program (GPC) program.

  • Provides guidance and support on the government travel program to include the Defense Travel System (DTS) and the Government Travel Card program. Serves as the focal point for all inquiries related to the travel program.
  • Responds to suspense requests, from both external and internal sources, and provides background information, analyses, comments, and recommendations as required.
  • Provides program guidance and recommendations in order to increase program effectiveness, efficiency, and/or economy of operations.
  • Develops project plans, resource expenditures, and risk assessment data in order to assess the project's ability to meet stated and desired objectives from both a program and an agency-wide perspective.
  • Serves as a Government Purchase Card holder and is responsible for processing and maintaining all records, justifications and required paperwork necessary for maintaining an auditable record of funds expended
