Requirements

As a Confidential Administrative Aide, you will provide support for the administrative superior to ensure smooth operation of the Washington County Children and Youth Department.

The incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of administrative staff assignments using computer, research and data analysis skills.

This role is familiar with office equipment, including, but not limited to, a fax machine, copier, scanner, printer and telephone. Occasionally, this position answers, screens, and routes calls.

Incumbents will also serve as confidential secretary to the Children and Youth Services Administrator. Other duties include:

  • Maintaining personnel files
  • Maintaining spreadsheets for clearances and agency equipment
  • Making travel arrangements.


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or
  • any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.


Legal Requirements:

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
