Full Job Description

This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

The incumbent will be responsible for serving as an advisor and subject matter expert for the development, evaluation, operational assessment, approval and conduct supporting global operations.

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A.

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the 12 grade level in the Federal service: Expert understanding of Department of Defense, Combatant Commands, Joint Staff, and military command structures to execute national-level military strategy Proven ability to perform strategic and operational-level planning and execution for Operations in the Information Environment Adept at resolving conflicts, exchanging ideas, and coordinating policies within the Department of Defense and across other federal agencies Experienced in representing management in high-level forums, addressing critical issues related to sensitive defense capabilities in support of global operations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

As a PROGRAM ANALYST at the GS-0343-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Development of National, Strategic, Operations and Tactical Narratives.

Identifying events or activities that are resonating in and through the information environment that could impact strategic environment. Conceptualizing solutions to complex military problems.

Developing Measures of Performance and Effectiveness to ensure successful execution of plans. Identifying humans and automated systems that are potential relevant actors.

Ensuring the joint force remains aware of interagency activities that may either support or potentially conflict with achieving objectives Influencing high level officials to accept and implement findings and recommendations, despite encountering resistance.
