Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves planning and organizing work packages for ship repair and maintenance at a naval shipyard, ensuring all necessary materials, documents, and instructions are ready for workers to complete tasks efficiently.
It requires coordinating with teams to track materials and schedules while maintaining accurate records.
A good fit would be someone with hands-on experience in shipbuilding or trades who is detail-oriented and comfortable working independently in a structured environment.
You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER (SHIPWRIGHT) in the TEMPORARY SERVICES SHOP 964, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION, performing duties such as: Compiling work packages that accompany the Task Group Instructions (TGI's), Technical work documents(TWD'S), drawing, and documents that are derived from pertinent standards and instructions.
Determining what quality assurance and support documentation is necessary to complete the job and prepares and/or assembles them with the package.
Reviewing the schedule and predecessors work and determine the probability of work beginning on schedule to ensure a timely release of task packages to execution.
Identifying, tracking, delivering, and assembling of all materials needed to perform the task within a Technical work documents (TWD).
Maintaining up to date knowledge of the entire task package in their respective areas of cognizance.
