This job involves planning and supporting production work in a naval shipyard's plastics shop, where you'll review orders and drawings to figure out needed materials and tools, process reports from workers, and coordinate with supply teams to ensure everything arrives on time.
It's a hands-on role focused on keeping fabrication projects running smoothly without delays.
A good fit would be someone with practical experience in manufacturing or shop planning who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable using computer systems for tracking supplies.
You will serve as a PRODUCTION SHOP PLANNER (COMPOSITE/PLASTIC FABRICATOR) in the PLASTICS FABRICATOR SHOP (SHOP 64) of PSNS and IMF.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
