The primary purpose of this position, PRODUCTION CONTROLLER, NJ-1152-02, is to provide planning, scheduling, and supply tasks in direct support of depot maintenance programs such as the repair, overhaul, manufacture, and/or modification of complex weapon systems and weapon system end items such as aircraft, missiles, engines, and a variety of associated assets.
In order to qualify, you must meet the general experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and administrative support positions.
Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (GS-04), level, pay band (NJ-01), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc.).
Special experience is defined as assisting with the planning, estimating, scheduling, and expediting the use of labor, machines, and materials in specific manufacturing or remanufacturing operations that employ mechanical or automated production systems and methods in the fabrication, rebuilding, overhaul, refurbishing or repair of any type of Government owned, controlled, or operating equipment, systems, facilities, and supplies.

OR EDUCATION: Applicant must have completed 4 years above high school education with major studies, obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicant must have equivalent combinations of successfully completed qualifying education and experience to meet total experience requirements.
Specialized experience directly related to the work of the position and education in excess of a completed post high school education and experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position may be used to qualify applicants for the NJ-2 level.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues.
Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.
Skill in interpreting and applying complex DOD, USAF, AFMC, and AFSC regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as developing methods and operating procedures as required.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

Utilize a variety of detailed guidelines in the form of production control data, worker and machine capabilities, material specifications, technical bulletins, user equipment logs, drawings, material orders, and historical manufacturing data.
2. Plan, organize and oversee the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistic management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs. 3.
Evaluate reports by analyzing facts and performing appropriate research and prepare detailed responses. 4. Establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships.
