Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility, Investigative Operations Division.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Reviewing footage sequence by sequence to become familiar with it before assembling it into a final product; Organizing and stringing together raw footage into a continuous whole according to scripts or the instructions of supervisor.
Trimming footage segments to specified lengths and reassemble segments in sequences that present stories with maximum effect; Editing footage to insert voice overs, subtitles and sound effects, to arrange films into sequences, and to correct errors, using editing equipment.
Selecting and combining the most effective shots of each scene to form a logical and smoothly running story; Setting up and operating computer editing systems and apply digital video effects (lighting, staging, filtering, etc.) units to produce a final product.

The incumbent is responsible for creating video and multi-media productions used to inform, educate, and instruct OPR employees, stakeholders from other law enforcement agencies and the public of the integrated missions of the OPR IOD.
This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10) Salary: Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S.
scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection.
The major duties for this announcement are listed below but not limited to: Performing multiple roles and serving as a script writer and editor of video productions, as well as collaborating with stakeholders as a team member on assigned special projects.
Managing the final production and ensuring that it adheres to CBP policies and industry standards governing program content and distribution.
Responsible for the preliminary editing of raw video footage and inserting scenes in the proper sequence and the technical quality, post-production processes associated with video program production, and real live virtual presentations (i.e.editing, assembling, adjusting, and enhancing the audio and visual elements to produce a professional production).
