Summary

This job as a Procurement Technician involves supporting the Navy's purchasing processes by managing data, preparing documents, and reviewing contracts for accuracy and compliance.

GS-06: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Manipulating data and assisting contract specialists in data management; 2) Using word processing and other types of software (spreadsheets, PowerPoint, etc.) to process and produce a wide range of documents; and 3) Examining procurement/specification packages, for administrative or regulatory discrepancies, proper allocation of funds, and errors.

GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying practical knowledge of procurement procedures 2) Manipulating data for the purpose of data management, document development, or reporting requirements; 3) Identifying problems, research relevant information, and propose and implement solutions; and 4) Collecting vendor quotes/proposals according to competitive requirements and abstracts bid information.**NOTE** This information must be supported by your resume in order to be considered for this position.

  • You will use electronic systems for creating, extracting, adding, deleting, editing, and storing information.
  • You will review and prepare documents (e.g., delivery orders, change orders, amendments, modifications) in compliance with procurement procedures.
  • You will operate a personal computer to produce messages, letters, and correspondence.
  • You will contact contractor personnel to resolve questions, relay information, or assist specialists in negotiating routine agreements.
  • You will review contract documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • You will resolve discrepancies and deficiencies on assigned procurements or contracts.
