Full Job Description

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position.

This position is an Indefinite WS-5378-10 POWERED SUPPORT SYSTEMS MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2748000 and is part of the MO TASMG Shop.

This is a non-bargaining position. SEE NOTES UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT. MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate must currently be assigned to a military unit in the Missouri Army National Guard.

Title 32 employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor (grade inversion).

Maximum Military Grade - CW3 (W-3) with date of rank after 20 September 2025 Minimum Military Grade - SSG (E-6) GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates your ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports.

WS-10 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess specialized experience that demonstrates ability to plan and organize work assignments, review work requirements, and establish priorities to meet deadlines for a powered support systems function.

The specialized experience must also indicate knowledge of the various lines of work performed by the powered support systems function and other sections involved; ability to deal effectively with other people and gain their cooperation in achieving common goals and experience which involved devising new work methods and procedures or improvements in existing work practices; experience supervising through subordinate supervisors, or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate, skill at applying human relations techniques, knowledge of general supervisory concepts, knowledge of shop processes; and adapt existing equipment and techniques to new situations.

Major Duties:

  • Plans weekly or monthly work schedules and sequence of operations.
  • Establishes deadlines and priorities based on established general schedules, methods, and policies.
  • Determines skills, materials and equipment required to do the work.
  • Provides workload data, estimates, information on staffing needs, and recommendations as the scheduling of projected work.
  • Assigns tasks to be performed. Explains work requirements, methods, and procedures.
  • Instructs subordinates on new procedures or methods and provides assistance on difficult or new problem areas.
  • Reviews work in progress or on completion.
  • Makes adjustments as necessary to effectively and economically accomplish the work.
  • Recommends and participates in the selection of personnel to fill vacancies.
  • Counsel’s employees on problems.
  • Ensures that regulations governing safety and housekeeping are observed.
  • Maintains production reports and records.
  • Implements safety regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization, and command support exercises.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
