- Performs the mechanical maintenance and operation of a hydroelectric powerplant, dam, transmission lines, switchyards, and facilities.
- Performs mechanical maintenance on turbines, generators, motors, pumps, valves, pipes, pen-stocks, and compressors, etc.
- Operates gantry, bridge, mobile cranes and hoists, moving, dismantling, assembling, overhauling, and repairing of hydroelectric plant machinery and related equipment.
- Uses oxyacetylene, arc, arc-air, tungsten inert gas (TIG) and metal inert gas (MIG) equipment when welding, cutting, or soldering.
- Performs pipe fitting work on air, water, gas, oil, hydraulic, and refrigeration piping. - Responsible for the safe use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Works safely, which includes following safety measures such as lockout/tagout and job hazard analysis procedures.
