Summary
This job involves helping to operate and manage the massive power generation and pumping equipment at the Grand Coulee Dam in Washington, ensuring reliable water and electricity supply while safeguarding the environment.
You'll work closely with the lead dispatcher to control high-voltage systems and electrical equipment that powers much of the western U.S.

Key Requirements
- Sufficient experience and training to operate power generation, pumping, and water equipment with minimal supervision

- Demonstrated paid or unpaid experience (including volunteer work) in relevant electrical or mechanical operations

The Powerplant Dispatcher Assistant in cooperation with the Powerplant Dispatcher is responsible for the operation of water, pumping and generation equipment for the Grand Coulee Dam.
Performs the operation of and/or is responsible for directing the operation of the following equipment: a combination of forty-three generating and/or pumping units with a power capacity of nearly 7300 MW.
Circuit breakers, circuit switchers, power disconnects and grounding devices associated with multiple high voltage transmission and distribution switchyards operating at voltage levels of 11 5-kV, 230-kV and 525-kV.
Electrical distribution sub stations and equipment operating at 13.8 kV, 6.9 kV, 2400 V, and 480 V/115 V levels.
