Job Description

Summary

This role involves acting as a key advisor on military planning and strategy for the U.S.

Marine Corps in the Pacific region, helping to develop and refine plans for operations, resources, and readiness.

You'll work with senior leaders to create documents, briefings, and databases that support large-scale military initiatives.

Key Requirements

  • Making recommendations to improve planning procedures for Marine Corps Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) staff
  • Developing or reviewing Operations Plans (OPLANS), Concept Plans (CONPLANS), posture plans, and theater campaign plans
  • Drafting executive-level information papers, correspondence, briefings, and presentations
  • Maintaining posture planning databases and product libraries for Theater Posture Plan (TPP) initiatives

Full Job Description

You will serve as a POSTURE LIAISON OFFICER in the MARFORPAC G-5 DIVISION of MARINE FORCES PACIFIC.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Interpreting and Integrating complex policies, doctrine, and operations into project requirements and products; providing technical leadership and guidance to senior leaders to solve multi-dimensional problems; AND generating written guidelines, briefs and information papers.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will make recommendations to change planning procedures or ways of conducting planning to the U.S. Marine Corps Forces Pacific (MARFORPAC) staff and subordinate command staffs.
  • You will develop or review service and/or regional combatant commander and Tier II Operations Plans (OPLANS)/ Concept Plans (CONPLANS), posture plans, and theater campaign plans.
  • You will assist in the development of U.S. Marine Corps headquarters in the U.S. Indo-Pacific (USINDOPACOM) Theater Campaign Plan, associated theater posture plans, MARFORPAC Campaign Plan, and other capstone documents.
  • You will be responsible for drafting executive level information papers and correspondence and developing executive level briefings and presentations for MARFORPAC senior leadership.
  • You will generate written guidelines, briefs, and information papers regarding posture Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM).
  • You will maintain multiple posture planning databases and product libraries to assist with the management and generation of Theater Posture Plan (TPP) initiatives.
