Summary

This job involves leading the planning, coordination, and execution of aviation-related military exercises for the U.S.

Pacific Fleet, including managing budgets and preparing reports to ensure training goals are met.

Key Requirements

Full Job Description

You will serve as a Principal Aviation Exercise Planner in the Operations Directorate, Fleet and Joint Exercise (N37) of COMMANDER US PACIFIC FLEET.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing, coordinating, planning, reporting, and executing of aviation exercises, plans, training goals and/or tasks.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will serve as the principal aviation exercise planner to the Fleet and Joint Exercise Plans Director on all aspects of aviation exercise planning and execution.
  • You will manage the Joint Exercise and Service Incremental Funds funding program and associated multi-million-dollar annual budget for assigned PACFLT/INDOPACOM exercises.
  • You will develop, review, and recommend the command position on individual exercises.
  • You will direct and coordinates Fleet/Type Commander participation and monitor, review, as well as prepare all related after-action reports and documents.
  • You will develop and structure Combined and Joint Exercise Control Groups (ECG) when required for assigned Command Post Exercises (CPXs) and Field Training Exercises (FTXs).
  • You will direct, develop and coordinate across staff PACFLT Joint Mission Essential Task List (JMETL) items and their associated training objectives appropriate to each assigned Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) exercise.
