Summary

This police officer role with the Naval Intelligence Activity involves patrolling secure areas, controlling access to facilities, investigating incidents, and responding to emergencies to protect sensitive national security sites.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS/GG-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing duties such as: Monitoring and patrolling perimeters (e.g., on foot or motor vehicle) to prevent unauthorized access.

Identifying traffic or personnel by performing access control duties (e.g. inspect identification cards, badges, and vehicle decals). Apprehending or detaining suspects violating laws and regulations.

Conducting criminal and security investigations in accordance with Federal and State laws and applicable regulations.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties:

  • You will perform and lead a full range of police operation duties to protect the facilities, perimeters, materials, equipment, personnel and information.
  • You will participate on emergency response teams and responds and mitigate incidents that threaten highly sensitive National Security interests.
  • You will prepare law enforcement related reports and forms, and other correspondence as necessary.
  • You will provide assistance to the shift supervisor in the planning and direction of assigned uniformed police officers engaged in day-to-day operations at Agency facilities.
  • You will be responsible for liaison and support to Federal, state, and local Agency regulations; manuals and standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to law enforcement and security/requirements and disciplines.
  • You will maintain law enforcement and safety certifications.
