Job Description

Summary

This job is for a police officer at a Navy installation in Fallbrook, California, where you'll enforce laws, respond to emergencies, investigate incidents, and control access at gates to keep the area safe.

Full Job Description

You will serve as a POLICE OFFICER in the OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT of WEPSTA FALLBROOK SET DET.

In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered.

For GS-7: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the (06) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Investigating unusual situations pertaining to violations of the law; 2.

Conducting checkpoints/roadblocks at various locations to reduce criminal activity; 3. Inspecting packages/personal belongings when admitting personnel into controlled areas; and 4.

Responding to emergency calls for service while adhering to state and federal laws. NOTE: This information must be supported in your resume to be considered for the position.

For GS-6: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the (05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1. Issuing citations for violations of the law; 2. Preparing reports and orders for dissemination to other law enforcement officials; and 3.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You must graduate from a police academy, specifically the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Uniformed Police Training Program (UPTP).

If you have not graduated from this specific academy prior to this application, the employer will assign the dates and location for you to attend.

Upon completion of FLETC, you must sign an agreement to obligate three years of service as a Police Officer (series 0083) with Department of the Navy. Major Duties:

  • You will respond to and investigate complaints while enforcing state and federal laws and regulations.
  • You will conduct preliminary investigations in response to calls for assistance (e.g., alarms, complaints, irregularities, incidents, unusual or suspicious circumstances).
  • You will coordinate emergency response for calls concerning complaints or reports of violations.
  • You will perform law enforcement duties at fixed post entrance and exit gates to control vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
