Summary

Full Job Description

You will serve as a PIPEFITTER (VIRTUAL LAYOUT) in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (c900) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.

Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

  • You will interpret engineering drawings, Technical Work Documents, sketches, shipboard onsite data and other technical data to determine the best way to manufacture, repair or modify various nuclear and non-nuclear piping systems.
  • You will conduct independent inspections to evaluate existing worksite conditions in order to validate that planned work is executable to achieve engineered objectives.
  • You will apply fundamental engineering concepts to develop complex piping arrangements within specified engineering tolerances.
  • You will perform quality assurance checks of fabricated piping as well as shipboard installation.
  • You will coordinate design drawings and specifications deviation with the appropriate shipyard engineering department.
  • You will communicate both informally and in writing with technical design codes and project teams to expedite problems resolutions of technical issues.
