You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties:

This position is located in the Clement J. Zablocki Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI.

The incumbent serves as a Pipefitter in the PM&R Shop in Facilities Management Division installing, repairing, troubleshooting, modifying and maintaining steam distribution systems, pneumatic heating systems, high-pressure piping systems, water distribution systems, and sewage systems.

Major Duties: -Installs/repairs/replaces pipes of varying sizes, reducing valves, shut-off and control valves on high, low and medium pressure steam.

-Troubleshoots and installs all types of steam/hot water boilers, both commercial and residential. -Repairs all steam and air controls operating laundry equipment.

-Installs repairs and/or regulates pressurized shower mixing valves, bulb-controlled or pneumatic 3-way mixing valves.

-Performs preventive maintenance on all above listed equipment and systems as directed and generates work orders for needed repairs as noted.

-Uses a variety of tools and test equipment including threaders, cutters, grinders, flaring and brazing equipment. -Removes, overhauls and replaces fire hydrants.

-Performs minor gas welding, arc welding, silver soldering and soft soldering. -Sanitizes water mains after installation or after breaks have been repaired, using the proper chemicals.

Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday 12 PM-8:30 PM and may be required to be present to provide off-hours support for utility outages, maintenance and projects support, etc.

*The position is AWS eligible for 8 - 9 hr days, 1 - 8 hr day and one day off a pay period, the day off being a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Position Description Title/PD#: Pipefitter/PD09491A
