Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves leading a team of supervisors and workers in a naval shipyard's pipe repair shop, overseeing daily operations, production schedules, and repairs on pipes and machinery.
It requires strong planning and management skills to ensure projects stay on track and resources are used efficiently.
A good fit would be someone with experience supervising technical teams in manufacturing or repair environments, who enjoys coordinating complex projects and developing staff.
You will serve as a Pipe and Machinery Repair Shop Supervisor in the Pipe Shop of the Production Resources Department of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: -Experience in managing shop operations, repairs, and overhaul through subordinate supervisors; -Experience in practicing analytical management techniques, including production and material control, cost control and personnel management; -Experience managing and developing long term training for various departments.
