Job Description

Summary

This job involves managing who gets access to secure areas at a naval facility, checking IDs and credentials for employees, visitors, and contractors, and inspecting buildings to spot and fix security issues.

It also includes helping with lock repairs and key production.

A good fit would be someone with experience in security checks, attention to detail, and basic computer skills who enjoys working in a structured government environment.

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Performing a variety of access control functions; 2) Applying physical security principles and regulations to an installation; 3) Identifying security violations or discrepancies; and 4) Utilizing MS word platforms to communicate orally and in writing.

  • You will serve as the primary liaison for the access control of employees, contractors, visitors, and official guests.
  • You will verify the credentials and requirements for access for all personnel requiring special electronic permissions, pass, or badge.
  • You will conduct physical security surveys of specified building and facilities, as required by applicable regulations, for identifying security deficiencies and preparing reports of findings and recommendations for correction of deficiencies.
  • You will assist the locksmith in complex duties involving producing keys, repairing or replacing defective locks, as required.
