Job Description

Summary

This job involves working as a security expert at a U.S.

About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Defense Health Network Indo-Pacific, at Brian D. Allgood Army Community Hospital, Camp Humphreys, Republic of Korea.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing electronic security systems, assisting in conducting security inspections, and collecting security data to prepare security reports.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Security Management and Homeland Security.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12.

Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).

Major Duties:

  • Determine the requirements for the intrusion detection system.
  • Evaluate engineering drawings of new construction projects for application of potential security systems.
  • Conduct and review vulnerability analyses and risk assessments.
  • Attend pre-construction conferences to provide technical advice and guidance on Electronic Security Systems.
  • Advise commanders, deputies, and division chiefs on physical security matters.
  • Conduct periodic Security Assistance Visits (SAV) of all departments to ensure that custodians are complying with key and lock procedures.
  • Develop and present security briefings or training related to established procedures.
  • Assist guard force supervisor in training of the contract security guard forces
  • Monitor work orders related to physical security repairs and maintenance.
  • Enforce policies and procedures for Hospital and Outlying Health Clinics.
  • Keep a record of serviced areas to include total number of locks/keys and key blanks on hand.
  • Revise plans, policies and procedures for overall consistency with security regulations, concepts, principles and practices.
