Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

The Payroll Manager at Lander University handles all payroll processing for employees and students, ensures accurate financial reporting and reconciliations, and manages related accounting tasks to support the university's operations.
This role involves preparing tax forms, verifying benefits data, and maintaining financial records with a focus on accuracy and deadlines.
A good fit would be someone detail-oriented with experience in finance or accounting who enjoys working in a team environment and providing reliable support to staff.
The Payroll Manager is responsible for all institutional payroll processing functions and reporting for employees.
Also manages portion of student payroll, prepares monthly reconciliation of employee benefits between PEBA and university's ERP benefit/payroll module for accuracy, and prepares and files the quarterly 941 and annual W2.
General Accounting duties associated with the financial operations of the university.
A high school diploma and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, or finance. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. A valid driver's license and safe driving history are required.
Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting, auditing, banking, budgeting, or financial management.
Experience in payroll processes such as 941, W2, 1042S, quarterly reports, etc. Knowledge of state government fiscal, accounting, and payroll processes and procedures.
Strong attention to accuracy, detail, and deadlines. Knowledge of office practices and procedures. Ability to analyze and interpret related data with emphasis on confidentiality.
Ability to communicate effectively and possess good interpersonal skills. Ability to work as a team is required.
