No advanced education is needed, just a high school diploma and a year of related experience.

Job Description
This Recreation Leader position will be assisting the supervisory staff of the Community Resource Center or Senior Center (depending on area of assignment) with daily operations. Additionally, the incumbent will be assisting with client registration by answering phone calls, processing registration fees, completing rental contracts, as well as working with building agency partners to assist with maintaining building operations and continuity of services.

Essential Duties
  • Documenting issues, writing work orders, enforcing policies, guidelines, and rules as to the use of the facilities, opening and closing the facility, and properly accounting for all equipment
  • Maintaining records and other documentation regarding daily program activities and operations such as class registrations, attendance records, deposits and financial reports and facility usage
  • Instructing clients on the fundamentals of the assigned community services program
  • Assisting in maintaining facility cleanliness and operations as needed
  • Assisting customers and residents with general questions and concerns regarding recreational or senior programs
  • Performing all other duties, as assigned
Public Speaking Duties
  • Educating and providing information about classes, programs, services and rental opportunities to the public at community events, resource and job fairs, and other forums, as needed
Other Job Requirements/Information
  • This job requires fingerprinting.
  • This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
Hourly rate
Salary will be $16.80 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • One year of experience in programming, event planning, customer service or scheduling experience.
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • CPR, First Aid, and/or AED certification must attach certificates to application)
