Requirements

As a Parole Communications Operator, you will provide support to parole supervision staff by receiving, interpreting, transmitting, and coordinating communications and activities in the twenty-four (24) hour operations monitoring center.

You will prioritize and respond to both urgent and emergency messages received through various electronic means.

You will also relay messages and other communications to parole supervision staff and evaluate alert data concerning potential violations by offenders subject to electronic monitoring.

This role requires strong analytical skills to review offender files and controlling sentence information as well as the ability to prioritize notifications in order to respond in a timely manner to all communications.

In addition, you will maintain accurate logs and files, operate and monitor two-way radios, and interpret information received from the Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network/National Crime Information Center (CLEAN/NCIC) and Justice Network (JNET) terminals.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hours/week
  • The Parole Board Communications Center Division is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year operations unit. The work schedule includes varying shifts and days off. Work hours will be discussed at the time of interview.
  • This position is deemed essential in accordance with policy 04.01.01 Section 48 Early and Full-Day Closings.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of clerical experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Special Requirement:

  • You must obtain CLEAN and JNET certification within three months of employment and maintain these certifications for the duration of employment in this job.


Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
