Requirements

As a Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker at the French Creek and Marsh Creek State Park Complex, you’ll spend your days working outdoors to keep the parks safe, clean, and beautiful. Your work will include maintaining trails and grounds by mowing, trimming, planting, and caring for trees and shrubs, as well as preparing sites and establishing new turf. You’ll help with general building upkeep, housekeeping, and minor repairs, and assist skilled staff with carpentry, plumbing, electrical, cement work, and the operation of water, sewage, and pool systems. You’ll also maintain vehicles and equipment, paint and stain park structures, ensure safety standards are met, assist visitors, and keep accurate records. This role offers variety, hands-on experience, and the chance to make a real impact on the parks while working weekends, holidays, and varied shifts during peak season.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

This is a seasonal, full-time position with no healthcare benefits. There is not an option to buy into health care benefits.

The season runs from approximately March 2026 until November 2026 at which time the employee will be placed on leave without pay.

The employee will automatically be returned to employment approximately March 2027.

  • Work shifts/days vary, will work 5 days/37.5 hrs. per week to include weekends and holidays if needed

  • Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or
    • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Condition of Employment:
    • This position requires a Class C non-commercial drivers license.
