Job Description

Summary

This role involves leading outreach efforts for the U.S.

Attorneys' Office, focusing on building community ties, supporting victims and witnesses in legal matters, and coordinating with law enforcement agencies.

It requires managing teams and handling public communications, such as media requests.

Citizens and Nationals under 26-KS-12896203-DE. GS-13: To be eligible at the GS-13 level, you must meet one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level.

Specialized experience is defined as experience providing program and analytical support in addressing complex law enforcement, community and victim witness outreach issues; providing assistance and consultation on Public Affairs issues such as requests from news media and other members of the public; managing and supervising employees, providing a variety of law enforcement program development, coordination, and liaison functions with state, local, and/or federal agencies; and providing training on law enforcement initiatives.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.

If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy.

If selected for the position of Outreach Program Manager, you will join a well-respected team in the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Kansas.

Typical work assignments will include: Planning, managing, and assigning the work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting goals and priorities, and preparing completion schedules.

Developing and implementing law enforcement coordination program activities within the District.

Establishing and maintaining professional contacts with federal, state, and local law enforcement organizations.

Coordinating law enforcement programs by providing a regular forum for organization representatives. Analyzing District law enforcement programs, audiences, and priorities.

Identifying the informational and resource needs of law enforcement organizations within the District.

Providing assistance and advice to USAO management, local, state, regional and other federal entities in security administration and crises management planning.

Ensuring that District litigative activities are promoted through a comprehensive law enforcement coordination program. Overseeing District community outreach efforts.

Providing assistance on information requests from the news media and members of public. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
