As an Operations Support Specialist, you will you will serve as a subject matter expert in administrative programs (such as property, facilities, supply, acquisition, budget, travel, performance, staffing, or benefits) and lead strategic evaluation of services and processes to advance program objectives..

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.

The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 03/06/2026. Application Limit: This vacancy is limited to the first 150 applications received.

GS-09: You qualify at the GS-09 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must have experience performing the following duties: Evaluating and adhering to procedures within administrative program areas (such as budget/financial management, staffing/position management, benefits, travel, space/facilities/emergency management, property, or acquisition).

Processing various administrative packages related to the assigned program area; Advising personnel on established methods and procedures, and recommending solutions to administrative problems; Maintaining accurate records and documentation to support program operations and ensure compliance with organizational policies.

OR You may substitute successful completion of a master's (or equivalent graduate) degree or 2 full years of graduate education in a qualifying field or a L.L.B/J.D degree for the experience required at the GS-09 grade level.

Such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the skills necessary to do the work.

Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise two years of graduate education. if that information is not available use 36 semester or 54 quarter hours.

GS-11: You qualify at the GS-11 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must have experience performing the following duties: Participating in studies to identify, analyze, and develop recommendations for resolving issues across assigned administrative program areas (e.g., budget, staffing, travel, space management/facilities, emergency management, security, acquisition, or position management); Documenting and reconciling administrative transactions, including preparing reports and spreadsheets; Providing guidance to personnel on established methods and procedures, offering recommendations for process improvements, and addressing challenges; Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement solutions and optimize operational efficiency within assigned program areas.

OR You may substitute a doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent degree) or three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in any field, or L.L.M.

if related for experience at the GS-11 grade level or such education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.

Check with your school to determine how many credit hours comprise three years of graduate study. If that information is not available, use 54 semester or 81 quarter hours.

GS-12: You qualify at the GS-12 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must have experience performing the following duties: Implementing strategies to address and resolve complex challenges in administrative procedures across areas such as budget, staffing, travel, space management/facilities, emergency management, security, acquisition, or position management; Conducting independent evaluations of administrative operations, preparing and delivering detailed reports to management to facilitate informed decision-making; Serving as a liaison, coordinating and maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives and seamless program execution; Analyzing changes impacting administrative program areas and proactively adapting procedures to maintain compliance and operational efficiency; Coordinating process improvements, implementing best practices, and enhancing the effectiveness of administrative support functions.
