Department Information:
The Governor’s Office of Federal Funds and Strategic Initiatives (OFFSI) works to maximize federal funding opportunities, effectively preserve and implement federal and stimulus funding, and execute strategic initiatives that build from cross-agency lessons from a coordinated response.
The Office specifically works on the $8.7B in American Rescue Plan Act (“ARPA”) Colorado received and the anticipated $10B from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill (“BIL” or “IIJA”) and the Inflation Reduction Act (“IRA”).

Position Title: OFFSI Coordinator
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Work Schedule: This is a hybrid position, working in office at least 3 days per week
Term Limited: The position is funded through December 2026
Department: The Governor’s Office of Federal Funds and Strategic Initiatives (OFFSI)
Through a cross-agency team of Strategy Officers and a network of local grant navigators, the Office operates as a convener of state agencies, local governments, and other entities to improve the drawdown of federal funds for Colorado while improving government systems to drive efficiencies and implement federal funding.
Office of Federal Funds and Strategic Initiatives reflects the diverse work that goes beyond economic recovery including implementing long-term transformative investments of ARPA funds, maximizing IIJA/IRA opportunities to move Colorado forward, cross-agency coordination and engagement to improve systems strained by the pandemic recovery, and strategic work on Governor priorities.

Organizational Relationships: This position reports to the Chief of the Office of Federal Funds and Strategic Initiatives. This position may occasionally be asked to support other Executive Assistants or other administrative support staff within the Governor’s Office, as needed.
Expected Annual Travel: Occasional in-state travel.
Summary of Functions: The OFFSI Coordinator supports OFFSI to ensure seamless coordination of team deliverables and administrative functions.
The position will provide a critical role in ensuring there is ongoing communication within the Office. This position serves as administrative lead for OFFSI.
This includes managing the Chief’s schedule, coordinating meetings and events, gathering briefing materials, providing quality control for information and task gathering, and general administrative assistance.
Additionally, this role will lead special projects, as assigned, and be provided opportunities to apply their skills in support of team objectives.
The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, highly organized, proactive, collaborative, and an innovative thinker.
Candidates should also be able to demonstrate strong critical thinking, pattern recognition, and analytical skills, and the ability to adapt quickly and operate nimbly in a fast-paced work environment.
Candidates need to demonstrate emotional intelligence, including humility and empathy, self-reflection and personal growth, and a genuine willingness to receive feedback.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Administrative
Scheduling and coordination assistance for the OFFSI Chief and Leadership Team including managing scheduling, appointments, and calendars
Manage OFFSI administrative requests, including expense claims and supply orders for leadership.
Planning and execution of Office events and meetings, including:
Support for Office retreats, leadership meetings, and team meetings
Support summits and events
Supporting the management and tracking to the Office’s budget and administrative needs
OFFSI Operations
Develop and maintain systems of effective communication and coordination within OFFSI, including:
Management of specific requests made of OFFSI team members
Communicating weekly around Office priorities and needs
Tracking and communicating upcoming deadlines across the organization
Direct outreach/ongoing communication with the state agencies, stakeholders and partner organizations
Contribute to strategy and planning work, meetings, and other activities such as process improvement and other opportunities
Project Support
Lead and complete research assignments as directed by supervisor and leadership team.
Special project management /coordination as directed by supervisor and leadership team.
Essential Skills:
This position requires a self-starter with strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and pattern recognition skills who can operate independently and nimbly in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Candidates should also demonstrate personal integrity, confidence, and diplomacy.
High level of professionalism in all written and oral communications. A strong understanding of executive-level communication is preferred.
Exceptional time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Google Apps and Microsoft Suite is essential. Experience with Salesforce is preferred, but not required.
Strong relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
Excellent project management and coordination skills, including the ability to create and maintain project and action item trackers.
Basic data management and analysis skills are preferred, but not required.
Ability to work with high levels of confidentiality and discretion.
Minimum Education/Experience:
At least five (5) years of relevant experience. This may be exclusively work experience OR a combination of higher education, training, and work experience.
Five (5) years of professional experience in a related field
OR
A bachelor's degree and one (1) year of relevant work experience
OR
An associate degree and three (3) years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
A degree in political science, public policy, business administration, organizational effectiveness, or another related field.
Previous experience in government or business administration, project management, process improvement, data analytics, customer service, or another related field.
