This job is for an office clerk in Baltimore County's elections department, where you'll handle tasks like processing voter registrations, assisting with election preparations, and managing files to support smooth elections.
It's a part-time role most of the year but ramps up during election seasons.
A good fit would be someone organized and detail-oriented with basic office experience who enjoys helping the public and working in a government setting.
Assists in the hiring of election judges and schedule their training.
Assists in proofreading processed batches of registration.Prioritizes data processing tasks to assure timely completion in accordance with office policies and procedures.Responsible for voter registrations applications.Assists with special projects including – mass mailings, petitions, redistricting, verifications, voter education, canvass election, packing judge supplies and surveys.Maintains and secures files daily.Assists with the preparation and the conduct of elections to meet all deadlines to include but not limited to: processing voter registration, provisional ballots, record retention, reports, certificates and other information in accordance with Local, State and Federal laws.Operates office machinery, photocopiers, fax machines, and calculators.Updates and maintains filing systems, lists, log books and rosters.Answers routine inquiries from the public, or directs inquiries to proper agency.Examples of Other DutiesCollects and compiles technical data and prepares summary statistics.Performs occasional light typing or word processing.

Qualifications Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate high school equivalencyplusone year's general clerical experience.(Additional experience as described in the essential duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
