Summary

This job involves managing budgets and financial resources for a U.S.

Attorney's office, including creating budgets, tracking spending, and advising leaders on money matters to ensure everything runs smoothly and follows the rules.

GS-13: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level: Specialized experience is defined as experience serving as a budget advisor, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive financial management system; analyzing legislation and developing justification narratives; advising higher management on program effectiveness; formulating, preparing annual administrative budgets and operating plans; monitoring obligations, appropriating funds, and validating expenses; and using a financial management information system to enter financial data, track funds, and develop reports.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.

If your agency has notified you in writing that you are a displaced employee eligible for ICTAP consideration, you may receive selection priority if: 1) this vacancy is within your ICTAP eligibility; 2) you apply under the instructions in the announcement; and 3) you are found well-qualified for this vacancy.

If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for budget and financial management services.

Typical work assignments will include: Developing, directing, and administering the full spectrum of budget and financial management services.

Managing and overseeing multiple budgets to include direct, OCDEFT, Office of Victims of Crime, and Health Care Fraud.

Advising on the proper and economic management of all financial resources under the District's jurisdiction in accordance with a wide variety of laws, regulations, policies, and programs.

Serving as the District's technical expert on the financial aspects of all District operations. Preparing and justifying annual administrative budgets and operating plans.

Preparing and presenting a wide variety of budgetary reports to include budget submissions, obligations, funds availability, outlays, budget proposals, and costs of operation.

Reviewing completed work by others and identifying training and developmental needs to ensure accuracy and efficiency of the organization's budget.

Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your experience progresses.
