As an Supervisory Adjudication Officer (Branch Chief), you will participate in the management of the overall USCIS program planning, coordinating, and monitoring with senior level responsibility for the administrative and management support programs.

The qualifications for this position must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 02/12/2026.

Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.

The Time-in-Grade requirement must be met by 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on 02/12/2026.

GS-15: You qualify at the GS-15 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience, which is equivalent to at least the GS-14 level in the federal government, that equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must have experience performing the following duties: Planning and directing major agency-level initiatives related to the immigration program.

Managing major components of immigration policy and operational programs and their support functions.

Serving as an expert or consultant to senior management o?cials on the resolution of extremely sensitive and complicated immigration issues.

Directing the development of nationwide immigration policy and program initiatives.

  • Organizational Location: This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, within Field Operations Directorate and are assigned based on the need of the agency.
  • Participates in strategic planning for FOD Programs to ensure effective and efficient, while working in an environment that must adjust priorities based on emergent program requirements, legislation, and regulations.
  • Conducts analysis to identify and analyze problems, investigates and determines possible solutions, prepare and present recommendations from a comprehensive management standpoint.
  • Directs subordinates who are tasked with analyzing, developing and drafting policies, procedures and guidelines required to accomplish overall and/or specialized segments of the directorate.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of new or emergent operational program activities or enhancements with regard to improving day to day field operations activities.
  • Performs administrative and human resource management functions, directs and plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets performance expectations, provides advice and counsel to workers, and completes employee performance evaluations.
