************ POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CLASSIFIED SERVICE ******************

The WV Tax Division is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Office Assistant 2 in its Compliance Section. Under general supervision, the chosen candidate will provide clerical and general office support to the management staff of this section. Examples of work to be performed include but are not limited to:
  • Answers telephone, screens calls, takes messages and complaints, and gives information to the caller regarding the services and status of accounts handled by Compliance.
  • Receives, sorts, and distributes incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Analyzes and audits invoices, bills, orders, forms, reports, and documents for accuracy and initiates correction of errors.
  • Maintains, processes, sorts and files documents; researches files for data and gathers information or statistics relevant to the work of Compliance.
  • Types or composes a variety of documents.

Perform related work as required. Familiarity with the Google office suite is strongly preferred as it will be used daily.

Employment requires a fingerprint-based criminal-background check to be provided at the West Virginia Tax Division’s expense.

Failing to initiate the process or cooperate with this process, providing false or incomplete information, or discovery of disqualifying information will result in denial of, or dismissal from, employment or denial of transfer irrespective of when discovered.

The chosen applicant will also be subject to a tax compliance check.

Qualifications
