This job is about keeping a state's transportation department's computer networks running smoothly, from setting up connections and fixing problems to tracking equipment and helping other staff with tech issues.
It involves hands-on work with network hardware and software, monitoring for issues, and managing inventory like ordering new parts or disposing of old ones.

Network Integration - Supports implementation of all layers of the network to include LAN, WAN, wireless access, cabling, circuits, switches, routers, firewalls, etc. for data networks.
Troubleshoots and resolves complex network issues. Provides first call support for Network Services. Creates, manages and closes support tickets. Provides preventative action recommendations.
Network Monitoring - Utilizing all provided monitoring tools, provides network infrastructure monitoring, problem analysis, tracking and resolution. Produces reports as requested.
Inventory- Manages incoming inventory from vendors. Creates new inventory records. Maintains inventory records of existing equipment and replacement plans.
Manages equipment disposal including equipment collection, preparation, documentation and coordination of turn in. Manages all aspects of data circuit inventory.
Orders new circuits, disconnects and manages changes to circuits.
Technical Network Resource - Provides technical network advice to other IT services areas and management. Serves as user contact for problems, solutions and training.
Trains end users and write network procedures. Meets with vendors to maintain network infrastructure. Performs other related duties as assigned.
