Base salary range: $62,107 - $80,737
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-10. Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 years graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves working as a naval architect focused on hydromechanics, where you'll conduct research on how ships move through water, manage lab equipment for experiments, and guide students and teams in engineering projects at the Naval Academy.

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Working with lab instrumentation, measurement equipment, and data acquisition in a laboratory setting, 2) Provide technical oversight and direction for team-based research, hands-on laboratory exercises, and independent engineering projects, 3) Prepare CAD models, engineering drawings, specifications, and documents supported by complex technical calculations to meet program objectives.
