This job involves working as a naval architect to oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of hull and structural systems on Virginia Class submarines, ensuring they perform safely and effectively throughout their service life.
You'll manage engineering projects, provide expert advice, and lead teams to solve complex problems under tight deadlines.

You will serve as a NAVAL ARCHITECT in the Virginia Class Submarine Systems Engineering Division (SEA05U2) in the Naval Systems Engineering Directorate (SEA 05) of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.
The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band NH-03 (GS-13) grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional engineer or naval architect administering engineering project management to solve engineering problem with team and communication skills for the driven resolution of the system engineering process with limited information and time constraints.
