The United States Space Force (USSF) at Peterson SFB, Colorado Springs, CO is searching for a Mission Planning Specialist to support Mission Delta 3 (NH-0301-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).
Description: The incumbent serves as an Operational Planner and subject matter expert for Space Electromagnetic Warfare (SEW) within the Mission Delta 3 S-3 Operations section.
They are responsible for the comprehensive planning, integration, and synchronization of SEW operations to support Combatant Command (CCMD) operational plans and the Mission Delta's strategic vision.
The incumbent conceives and defines solutions to highly complex problems, independently planning and carrying out assignments that integrate Total Force mission partners.
A primary function is managing operational plans for SEW systems, which includes directing the implementation of policies, evaluating urgent operational needs, and making recommendations on employment and deployment strategies.
The employee represents the Mission Delta Commander at high-level briefings and conferences, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships across USSPACECOM, USSF, CFC, System Program Offices, and sister services to ensure mission objectives are met.
Key Skills and Abilities: 1.
In-depth knowledge of the principles and practices of the space electromagnetic warfare techniques, and procedures to effectively mission plan and integrate electromagnetic warfare missions, including project development, systems employment, emerging capabilities, mission planning for deployments and forward basing modernization and advisory services.

Expert knowledge in the application of a wide range of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for the assessment and improvement of Space Electromagnetic Warfare program effectiveness and their improvement of complex management processes and systems.
3. Knowledge of Space Electromagnetic Warfare missions, functions, goals, objectives, operations, maintenance, products and services necessary to meet national strategic objectives. 4.
Knowledge of Joint Planning Doctrine, electromagnetic weapons systems capabilities, and best practices, and procedures, to include but not limited to Operational Plans, Operational Orders, Operational Emerging Requests, etc.
5.
Expert skills in analyzing, organizing, planning, leading, controlling and integrating the efforts of other specialists in developing new concepts and approaches; solve complex electromagnetic warfare system/personnel requirements, developing, defining complex advanced thinking on high-risk programs.
6. Skill to plan, organize, and direct team study work and to negotiate effectively with management to accept and implement recommendations.
Skills in fact-finding, communication and the development of presentations and reports. 7. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. 8.
A high degree of skill in public speaking and technical writing is required as well as an advanced knowledge of space electromagnetic warfare weapon systems.
