Full Job Description

The MidlandsLIFE Program Coordinator supports the daily operations of the MidlandsLIFE program, a postsecondary education initiative designed for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This position blends program coordination, student support, and mentorship development to ensure a high-quality and engaging program experience. The Program Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting student success, fostering campus belonging, and facilitating collaboration across campus and within the community.

Program Coordination & Implementation
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and delivery of MidlandsLIFE program activities and services.
  • Support student onboarding, orientation, and continued participation throughout the program.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate and confidential program records.
  • Coordinate class schedules, workshops, events, and other program-related activities.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key campus partners, including disability services, registrar, bursar, and academic departments.
  • Communicate program information effectively to students, families, faculty, and campus stakeholders.
  • Promote the inclusion of students with disabilities in campus academic, social, and co-curricular experiences.
  • Develop and sustain community partnerships that enhance transition services, employment readiness, and postsecondary opportunities for students.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties, including preparing reports, evaluating program effectiveness, documenting outcomes, meeting regularly with staff, and assisting with program promotion and outreach. Mentorship Coordination
  • Assist the Office of Access and Opportunity with the implementation and oversight of the Maverick Mentors program.
  • Support the development, coordination, and delivery of mentorship programming and activities.
  • Assist with administrative responsibilities related to the Maverick Mentorship Program, including tracking participation and maintaining program records.
  • Develop and update training materials, resources, and documentation for mentors and mentees.

This position is located on the Midlands Technical College Airport and Beltline Campus.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a related field.

  • Experience coordinating mentorship programs or peer-support initiatives.
  • Familiarity with campus systems such as student information systems and learning management systems
