This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Anderson Center Child & Adolescent Clinic, 1 Linwa Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.
Perform duties which include administration and monitoring of medication of patients, calling in prescriptions for patients, recording and monitoring medication usage.
Consult with school nurses, PCPs, families and others regarding medications and patient needs and relays all information to provider.
Will complete in a timely and organized manner, keeping accurate records through the process.
Work closely with the physicians/medical providers rendering services to patients to include escorting them to and from the waiting room, collecting vitals (e.g., pulse, weight, height, blood pressure), completing urine drug screenings as requested, and gives injections as needed.
Follow up on any requests of the physicians/medical providers related to continued treatment which may include prescriptions, sample medications and follow-up appointments.
Assist with Prior Authorization Medication Forms. Use the electronic medical record to research medications to verify and fill out forms that assist a client in receiving a medication as required by various payor sources.
Documentation of services in clinical record according to Q.A. Standards and agency policy and procedure.
This position could be considered essential, and the employee may be asked to report to work even if the Center is closed in the event of an emergency.
