Base salary range: $41,966 - $54,557
Typical requirements: 1 year specialized experience at GS-6. Bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement or 1 year graduate study.
Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves helping to design and analyze large-scale tests and studies for the Navy's advancement system, using math and statistics to improve exam methods and ensure data accuracy.
You'll work on research, data collection, and creating statistical programs to support educational and training programs.
It's a good fit for someone with a background in statistics who enjoys applying analytical skills to real-world problems in a government setting.
You will serve as a MATHEMATICAL STATISTICIAN in the NAVAL ADVANCEMENT CENTER DEPARTMENT of NETPDC.
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing the principles, concepts, and methodology of mathematics and statistics, which includes graduate level work in statistics, in the mathematical and statistical aspects of large scale testing and studies; 2) Assisting in research, analysis, design, development, testing, and performing technical functions and information assurance; AND 3) Assisting in conducting studies and reports that provide statistical analysis and use analytical techniques.
