Base salary range: $147,649 - $221,900

Note: Actual salary includes locality pay (15-40%+ depending on location).
This job involves receiving, inspecting, sorting, and managing excess government property in a warehouse setting, including using forklifts to handle heavy items.
Workers verify item conditions, ensure proper documentation, and prepare materials for sale or disposal.
It's a good fit for hands-on individuals with warehouse experience who can work independently, handle physical tasks, and follow safety protocols in varying weather conditions.

Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition.
Ability to do the work of a Materials Examiner & Identifier (FLO) without more than normal supervision: I perform the common tasks of the job to be filled but under close supervision, such as receive general guidance on assignments, such as: loading and handling material and how items are to be received and identified.
Additional Information: Physical Effort: Climb stacks of property during inspection, pre- receiving and receiving and verification operations, necessitating considerable kneeling, crawling, bending, walking and stooping.
Physical handling of property will be routine. Incumbent must be able to lift property weighing up to 50 pounds and shift/relocate other heavy materials using appropriate material handling equipment.
Working Condition: Work is done inside and outside for long duration (through breaks, etc. as necessary) to complete immediate tasks.
Inside work is performed in warehouses which may be drafty or unheated. Outside work is subject to inclement weather.
Discomfort is experienced while wearing protective clothing; respirators, goggles or face masks.
Worker may be exposed to hazardous vapors, liquids, powders and solids and the possibility of cuts and bruises.
May be subject to hazards of working close to moving equipment, for example, forklifts, trucks and conveyor lines.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).
Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
