Applicants who do not meet the screen-out element (SOE) will be eliminated from further competition.

Ability to do the work of a Materials Examiner and Identifier without more than normal supervision Knowledge of Technical Practices Knowledge of Materials Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc.

(other than blueprints) Dexterity and Safety Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social).

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Effort Work requires active physical effort including extensive walking, bending, stooping and pushing and pulling heavy material along conveyor lines, climbing ladders, stairways and prolonged standing.

May require heavy lifting up to 70 pounds. Working Conditions Work is normally performed inside warehouses, which may be hot, cold, damp, dusty and drafty. May be required to work outside.

Subjected to inclement weather. May be subjected to cuts, bruises, abrasions and scrapes in moving or handling material.

Subject to hazards of working with hazardous items, and working too close to moving equipment, such as forklifts, lift trucks, and conveyor lines. Major Duties:

  • Inspection of new procurement, redistribution and customer returns.
  • Determines identification, contract compliance, classification code, preservation, packing, palletization and marking for storage, damage, and shelf life status.
  • Performs inspections to determine identification, contract compliance, classification code, proper preservation, packaging, markings and shelf-life status.
  • Inspects new procurements, redistributions, and customer returns for identification, contract compliance, classification, preservation, packaging, marking, serviceability, defects, and shelf life.
  • Inspects receipts from new procurement, customer returns and logistics transfer (redistribution).
